Python Fundamentals Workshop 2024
Redbrick is a software startup that was established in 2011 to provide software publishing firms with a specialized marketing platform. It has since grown into a media technology company, establishing Assembly, a multi-brand digital publishing company, and creating technologies to maximize revenue and placement.
The introduction of Assembly has elevated Redbrick's platform significantly, now hosting four diverse brands spanning entertainment to education.
In Summer 2024, from June 5th to July 24th, WEST is running a new workshop with Redbrick!
What is this workshop about?
This workshop is intended to provide free education to female+ identifying students who wish to learn Python.
Participants will engage in weekly two-hour seminars over an eight week period, engaging in hands-on coding activities to reinforce learning and understanding of Python and programming fundamentals.

What is the timeline of the project?
The timeline of the project spans over an eight week period, running from June 5th to July 24th. Participants will attend weekly two hour seminars focused on Python programming, and engage in hands-on coding activities to further reinforce their understanding of the content.
What does participation in this project look like?
Everyone participating in this project has a few items they have committed to:

Attending the weekly sessions on Wednesdays from 6:00pm - 8:00pm PST in person at UVic or online via Zoom.

Actively engaging in exercises and coding activities during weekly sessions.

Attend a Networking Event scheduled for July (date TBD).

Collaborating with their colleagues, as well as with Redbrick, WEST, teaching assistants, and lecturers within and beyond workshop hours, allowing participants to seek support for coding exercises and the final case study.
